Learning with ladybugs! Counting ladybug spots with reusable stickers on a window or in the bathtub is a fun way to practice numbers again and again! Bringing learning outside {or even inside looking out!} makes learning more interesting to preschoolers. In preschool, we have been learning about bugs and The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle is a big hit right now. The Counting with Ladybugs Window Game is easy to set up and goes along with any bug theme!

Reusable Ladybug Window Stickers:
- foam craft sheets {red & black}
- water
- window
This activity is easy simple to create and low prep. Simply cut a red circle for the ladybug body, small black circles for the ladybug spots, and add in a black head if you want. Write numbers on pieces of foam or cut them out. Organize the foam pieces how you prefer. My preschooler decided that dumping all the pieces into one container was the system she was going to use!
HOW TO PLAY:
Pick a number and stick it to the window. Build the ladybug and then add the correct number of spots to the big red body circle one at a time. Work on sticking and counting in a rhythm with your little learner to model the importance of accurate counting.
Toddlers can play too! Cut out lots of ladybug bodies and spots so the fun doesn’t stop after building just one ladybug. Work on colors and counting with your toddler.
Take it all down and play again!
Adding water to learning is a sure way to keep younger kids motivated! Just make sure to let the pieces dry completely before packing them up until you need them again.
Love this activity as much as my preschoolers?

Very cute!! I can also visualize creating fish and bubbles or giraffes and spots for this activity!

Thanks so much! Those are both great ideas!
