Before we know it, cooler weather will be here! I look forward to fall every year, even if it doesn’t get as cool where we live as other places. It’s still the start to a fun learning season! Our fall leaves 10 frames are the perfect way to mix up some of your learning activities to include both number recognition and counting skills. And they are a great way to introduce adding up to and making 10 to your preschoolers!
Fall Leaves 10 Frames
This printable math activity can be downloaded from the pink button below. The fall leaves 10 frames activity includes 10 ten frame trees and 10 leaves with the numbers 1-10 on them.
It only takes minutes to print and prep this learning center, especially if you own a paper cutter!
Print the file on cardstock and cut the pieces apart on the gray dotted lines. Laminate the pages to make the cards more durable and wipeable!
Add the 10 frame trees and the leaf cards to a tray. Or you can spread the 10 frame trees out on the table and add the fall leaves to a bowl or bin. Choose the way to play that will work best for your kiddos.
With practice and exposure, many preschoolers will begin to be able to look at a 10 frame card and know right away how many dots are there. And you may be impressed with the ones who can tell you how many dots are on the card by counting down from 10.
I love how little minds work!
Printable activities are my go-to when I need to be able to observe and asses from a distance. I like that I can glance over at a table working and see right away who is succeeding and who is struggling a little with a certain skill. And my preschoolers feel like big kids when they can work together without a teacher sitting right there with them!
Grab the fall leaves 10 frames now and then check out these fun learning activities too!
