Key Lime Pie Play Dough Recipe

Homemade play dough is so easy to make!

Play dough that smells amazing and only includes 3 ingredients {and no cooking} is even better!  During the school year, my preschoolers get to enjoy homemade play dough all year long.  New play dough is sent in twice a month by their awesome parents and each new color or scent is always exciting to play with!

My preschooler loves to be a helper in the kitchen, so I let her basically make the Key Lime Pie Play Dough on her own!  She dumped all the ingredients in the bowl and mixed it up as well as she could. I finished by squishing and smoothing some of the lumps together, but in just minutes the play dough was created and ready to be played with!

And it smelled yummy too!

KEY LIME PIE PLAY DOUGH:
Includes just 3 simple ingredients!
  • Lime Jello {smaller sized box}
  • Kiwi Lime Hair Conditioner
  • Cornstarch
So if you’re thinking that you’ve never seen Kiwi Lime Conditioner before, don’t stress!  The VO5 conditioner can be found at The Dollar Tree and Walmart {where it costs less than $1.00!}.
In a mixing bowl add 1 1/2 cups cornstarch, the box of Jello, and 1/2 cup conditioner. Mix the ingredients around until they begin to stick all together.  After mixing with a spoon, squish together with your hands.  Depending on the consistency your kids prefer their play dough, add a little more cornstarch if needed!
That’s it!  Now it’s time to play!

The play dough is so inviting to play with because it smells so good!
My preschooler used play dough toys to create her own pies.  I showed her how to cut a piece of her pie so it would stay in the triangular shape.  She fed her baby dolls many servings of key lime pie!
We thought it may be fun to make some sorbet or even popsicles, so we added ice cream bowls and popsicle sticks to the fun!
