Sensory play with cotton balls!
If there is one area of the classroom that my preschoolers visit the most, it would be our sensory table activities! Because of this, I like to change the theme and materials in our sensory bins often. Spring and Easter are just around the corner, so this is the perfect time of year to introduce my preschoolers to our Bunny Sensory Bin!
The Bunny Sensory Bin is themed after the song, “Here Comes Peter Cottontail,” which has a catchy tune and is easy for preschoolers to remember and sing while exploring in the bunny tails! I’ve added tools to promote fine motor play and accessories to practice 1:1 correspondence and counting.

- plastic eggs
- wind-up bunnies

Add the cotton balls to the sensory bin along with the other accessories. Show your preschoolers how to open and close the plastic eggs, twist the wind-up bunnies, and add bunny tails to the ice cube trays one by one. Set the bin up in an inviting way to get your little ones playing and learning!
