We all know how it feels to be frustrated when our own child isn’t catching on to skills that seem simple (well to us anyway!). Activities that are super simple to set up, or just print out, can make these kind of frustrating times a little less stressful. Our Easter Egg Counting Printable Activity covers beginning counting and number skills as well as fine motor practice. And it’s fun for kids!

Easter Egg Counting
The great thing about this Easter egg counting printable activity is that there are 2 versions and one is self-correcting that works on counting first and number recognition second!
When your child is learning numbers, breaking it down into smaller sections at a time, will help set your child up for success. This means that throwing all the numbers 0-20 at your child when he cannot identify 2 numbers, will lead to a frustrated child…and a frustrated parent!
The Easter egg printable number activity includes the numbers 1-5. Some of my preschoolers, who are 3 and 4 years-old, are able to identify numbers 0-5. Some know 0-10. A few can even identify 0-20.
But there are still preschoolers who can identify no numbers. Preschoolers develop academic skills at different stages, so all of the above situations are normal.
How to Stamp & Play
The 2 versions of the printable counting activity include Easter eggs with numbers printed inside them. One version includes just the numbers in the eggs.
The other version includes small circles to visibly show the number. This second version with the small circles help encourage one to one correspondence and accurate counting, which will lead to figuring out which number is printed inside each Easter egg.
Print out the Easter egg counting activity. Grab stamps. I bought the set pictured in the Easter holiday aisles. You can also grab fun Easter, spring themed stamps from Amazon too! You can also use markers, stickers, or Do-A-Dot markers.
Have your child add the correct number of stamps to each egg. Practice pointing and counting to the stamps to double check his work.
If your child is struggling with this activity, print out the second version. Have your child count out loud each circle that is stamped. Encourage your child to name the number in the egg at the end of stamping and counting.

So now that your preschoolers is working towards mastering his numbers, how about another printable game to work on letters and beginning sounds? Egg themed of course!
And your toddler needs our Magnetic Egg game to play with while you cook instead of raiding the pantry!
