Brrr…it’s officially winter! It may not be as cold as some parts of the country where we are, but the preschoolers are still enjoying all of our wintery activities in the classroom this month! I’ve added sparkly Frozen-themed play dough. The preschoolers are using ice blocks (Legos), polar animals, and ice picks (tees) while playing and pretending. We always have scissors out with play dough to practice cutting skills in a very low-key setting!
We have been reading mitten-themed books to go along with winter and the letter Mm. The preschoolers love One Mitten and The Mitten! We have mittens in the classroom that we use to play different learning games and use during center time. Mittens were added to our Ice Castles (Magnatiles) so that no one had frozen fingers while playing!
The Hot Chocolate Scented Sensory bin has been a hit too! The preschoolers could play for hours in sensory bins!
