Print and prep the fine motor busy bins, and store them in small storage containers with lids (mine are from Walmart – some teachers use ziplock or colorful buckets). Switch out the 12 activities each time you switch themes. Yep, this idea is genius!
What is a busy bin exactly?
A busy bin is similar to a busy bag activity. You put the activity together and store it in a bin to be used over and over again. Busy bins are reusable learning activities – prep once and play forever!
Each fine motor busy bin activity comes with an instruction page and a label for your bin.

HEARTS FINE MOTOR BUSY BINS
Building Heart Letters – Use candy conversation hearts or plastic hearts to build lowercase letters while filling candy jars.
Heart Letter Cards – Identify the letter from the word “heart” in the middle of the heart shape and use paperclips or mini clothespins to clip each matching letter around the border of the heart.
Heart Line Up 1-20 – Add a pipe cleaner to the number card with tape and use heart shaped beads to add the correct number of beads.
Cooking counting Cards 1-12 – Decorate the cookies with the correct number of hearts. Use candy hearts or M&M’s (or beads, pom poms) for a fun way to encourage counting. Trace the number words with dry erase markers.
Heart Letter Tracing Cards – Identify the letters on the cards and use dry erase markers to trace the uppercase and lowercase letters.
Love Bug Count & Clip Cards – Use clothespins to clip the number that matches the number of hearts on each love bug.
Cutting Hearts – Make copies of the heart page and cut the heart puzzles apart on the lines. Put the hearts back together and glue to paper for added fine motor work.
Heart Stack – Roll the die and add that number of mini erasers to a single stack in the middle of the heart card. Roll again and keep adding erasers until the stack falls down!
Valentine Wikki Stix Shapes – Use your finger to trace the shape on the card and then use Wikki Stix or pipe cleaners to form the shape.
Heart House Puzzles – Put the heart house puzzles together by matching up the house color correctly.
Sweetheart Play Dough Mats – Create the Valentine’s Day themed pictures with play dough or recreate the pictures on the table.
Find It & Mark It – Find all of the matching pictures to the picture in the circle. Mark each picture with a plastic heart or pom pom.
