LITERACY CENTERS
Garden Vocab & Write the Room – 10 garden and flower themed vocabulary word cards are included in both uppercase and lowercase versions. Use the cards in your writing area, during social studies, or along with circle time. There are 3 Write the Room recording papers (trace uppercase words, trace lowercase words, write the words on your own) and Color the Room recording sheets included to differentiate instruction.
Flower Emergent Readers – 2 levels of readers included
“A Flower” – includes repetition, sight words, predictable words, and themed words. Includes 2 pages per piece of paper to make copying and assembling books super simple!
“Flower” (mini) – 2 words per mini page with use of number words in the reader. In this mini book, the entire reader is printed on one page. Practice the numbers and words with clues from the pictures.
Flower Pot Syllable Sort – Work on clapping and tapping the syllables in easy to recognize pictures. Sort the flowers on to 4 different flower pots to show 1, 2, 3, and 4 syllables.
Alphabet & Sight Word Play Dough Mats – Build uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and sight words out of play dough on the flower play dough mat. Includes the first 50 sight words from Fry’s 100 list.
Flower Letter & Sound Match – Find the letter stem that correctly matches the initial sound of the picture on the flower. Use the recording sheet along with the initial sound activity for added letter writing practice.
Build a Flower Alphabet Puzzles – 3 versions – Match uppercase to uppercase, uppercase to lowercase, or lowercase to lowercase letters while putting the puzzles together correctly.
MATH CENTERS
Flower Petal Addition (Counting) Clip Cards – Count the flower petals in the addition sentence, add them together, and find the total number. Use a clothespin to clip the correct number from the choices on the bottom of the clip card.
Colors & Color Word Worm Puzzles – Put together the colored worms correctly, or match up the white & black worms to create a color word. Identify the color on the puzzle, and color in one worm on the recording sheet the same color.
Roll & Color Flowers to 20 or 50 – Roll a die, identify the number of dots or the numeral shown, and color in that many flowers on the recording sheet. Continue to roll and color in the flowers until all flowers are colored.
10 & 20 Frame Wiggly Worms – Pick a 10 or 20 frame wiggly worm card and identify the number of dots. Find the matching number on the recording sheet (3 versions included – 1-10, 11-20, 1-20) and color in the worm. Pick another card and play again. Add to a sensory bin for extra fun!
Flower Pot Shape Sort – Use the shape flowers to sort out on to 6 different shape flower pots to practice shape recognition and visual discrimination.
Before & After Garden Numbers – Find the number that comes before OR find the number that comes after the set of numbers on the flower garden. Two sets of flower garden number puzzles are included to use depending on the number skills being practiced. Use the recording sheet to write down some of the number sets.
