Our *NEW*Alphabet Initial Sounds Summer Pack has been designed specifically to keep little learning heading into kindergarten engaged over the summer.  It’s hard to keep up with the practice and mastery of letter sounds over the summer months.  The printable activities are the perfect way to keep 4-6 year-olds motivated before and during summer break, so that they can enter kindergarten with confidence!

The 9 low prep activities focus on identifying the initial sounds in everyday words.  They also work on fine motor skills and early reading skills.

Alphabet Initial Sounds Summer Pack

Popsicle puzzles – match the letter on the top of the popsicles to the correct bottoms making sure that the letter makes that initial sound

Swim & Splash Cover Up – identify the initial sound of the pictures on the card and cover up the ones that match the letter on the card with pom poms or mini erasers

Sprinkler Drip Match – find the correct letter card that matches the initial sound on the water drip and place them together

Matching Sunglasses – match the initial sounds of both sides of the sunglasses together to create an entire pair of sunglasses

Watermelon Play Dough Mats – pick a card, identify the initial sound of the picture on the card, and then build the uppercase and lowercase letter of the sound on the play dough mat

Linking Ice Cream Scoops – link the scoops to the cone matching up the initial sounds of the scoops to the ice cream cones

Sweet Pineapple Sounds – write the letter of the initial sound of the picture on the pineapple in the box on the card – or use letter magnets for this activity 

Sounds Around the Campfire – identify the initial sound inside each marshmallow and add the matching letter magnet to the picture

Outdoor Fun Clip Cards – clip a clothespin on the letter initial sound of the initial sound in each picture
